About Me
My name is John Haggarty, and I have been a plumber for over 15 years and have owned my own business for about 10! Over the years I have worked on all kinds of tasks in all kinds of environments and feel I have a lot of knowledge which might help to save you money and a headache.
I have run a few blogs in my time about different interests to various levels of success. I had never really considered that a blog about plumbing would be of any interest to anyone until I got called out to a straightforward job last week. A young man called me out because his toilet was blocked. It took me ten minutes and a plunger to get it all sorted.

Luckily for him, it was on my way to another job and so I did not charge him the call out fee. However, under different circumstances, this could have cost him up to £100 or even more! I have now made it my mission to educate the public so that they don’t have to rely on professionals for everything and can keep their wallets nice and full.
What Will You Need?
My mission is to cover tasks and chores that you can carry out with minimal effort and the simplest of equipment. All you have to do is be open-minded and prepared to get your hands dirty (well, your rubber gloves dirty!).

I’m not going to offer guidance on how to install a full toilet, or how to install all of the necessary pipes under a sink. In essence, the only tools you will really need to make sure all of your pipes are free of obstruction is an auger and a plunger. For anything else, you might be best just to bring in a professional to get the job done or look for a blog that offers guidance on things that are a bit more involved.

In short, you don’t really need anything. You just have to be willing to give things a go. I won’t lead you down the garden path; it is that simple!

All of the information I present will be in the form of blog posts. I will either answer a specific question, outline how to carry out one task, or generally discuss a topic related to plumbing. So even if I haven’t covered something that you need to know already, stay subscribed, and you might see something you need to know in the future!
